| Brief Description of Research Project | Task 1: A 90 minute module on rail software will be developed for use in the REES II symposium. Materials will be prepared by and delivered on June 12, 2012 in Kansas City at the symposium. Students will generally be civil engineering instructors seeking advanced knowledge of rail engineering for use in their own classes. (deliverable: 90 minute power point and presentation). A semester long senior-level undergraduate course on rail systems operations. CE 433, will be enhanced to include intermodal transportation components. Includes waterways and trucking, and the rail interface. Guest speakers will be arranged from the various modes. Field trips will be organized. (deliverable: on-line available lectures and power point materials. Exam and homework materials will be made available to other instructors on request. |
